Blackwater Sailing Club has celebrated another outstanding summer with the successful staging of its annual Cadet Week and Club Week, the flagship events that continue to be the highlight of the Club’s calendar.

The first day of the Elimination Series got underway today at the 2026 ILCA 7 Men’s World Championship, with two races completed as scheduled — under rain, fortunately not heavy.

50-degree shifts, ukuleles and top racing set the scene as Killaloe Sailing Club hosted a cracking RS Irish Nationals in testing, shifty conditions that ranged from nothing to fifteen knots.

Saturday 22nd Aug saw the return to the Solo Class to Oxford Sailing Club for an Open Meeting shared with the British Moths and Lightning 368s.

Another beautiful day greeted the fleet at the 2026 Star European Championship, although this time Medemblik showed a more familiar face. Grey skies and a fresh easterly breeze welcomed sailors to the racecourse in the morning.

Six visiting Challengers made their way to Loch Earn Sailing Club for the final event in Sailability Scotland’s 2026 Challenger Traveller Series. Unfortunately, while there was a Challenger available for Liz Eaton, she was unable to come.
