USA 1, winner of the World Sailing Open Team Racing World Championship, held in Stockholm, Sweden, August 12 -16 included two Newport Harbor Yacht Club sailors who sailed for the same College nearly 3,000 miles away and eight years apart.

14 races were sailed with 13 boats competing on a good course set by Dave Tomlinson. But unlucky for some the wind direction made top marks distant, proving tricky. All but one used A rigs under a blue, white and dark grey sky.
