Notts County Sailing Club has an annual First of the Year race, a well known tradition going back decades.

2025 was another busy year for the Comet class, with events far and wide to attend. Our season started in April and ended in October. We planned 26 events comprising 24 opens and 2 championships.

After two days marked by a lack of wind at the start of the 49th Palamós Christmas Race, it was not until the third day that sailors finally enjoyed sailing at its best, in the conditions Palamós Bay is renowned for.

Chichester Yacht Club delivered another day of tactical winter racing as the Frozen Toe Series reached Races 7 and 8, sailed in a light-to-moderate breeze and strong tidal conditions that shaped every leg of the course.

I am sure throughout the sailing community there are numerous unsung heroes who deserve the sailing equivalent of a “THE ONE SHOW, Big Thank You” and in the K1 fleet we have numerous individuals who could easily fit that criteria.
