Pressure Mounts in the Bay of Islands as Elliott 5.9 Series Reaches Pivotal Round 4

A bumper fleet of 71 boats took to the start line for the Nautical Cloud Cherbourg Race, organised by JOG and RORC, producing an exceptionally close and competitive dash across the Channel in what many competitors described as dream conditions.

The Camel Week regatta is open to most dinghy classes and catamarans, and the 2026 edition was sponsored by the Point and supported by St Austell Brewery. The regatta also celebrated the launch of the Club’s new committee boat ‘Lilly Mae’.

The third and final day of the Tasar European Championship at Hythe and Saltwood Sailing Club began with bright skies and a southerly 10-12 knot wind, making the Race Officer’s job a little easier.

With just over 500 nautical miles to go on the seventh day of The Ocean Race Atlantic, Francesca and her crew on 11th Hour Racing are still right in the battle for the podium, and possibly more, as they sail fast towards the finish off Lorient.
