An excellent first day of racing at the 2026 Jura Scottish Series saw competition at its most open for some years, many of 2025’s winners discovering how hard they will need to push if they are to retain their class titles.

The start of the 71st Regata dei Tre Golfi, the offshore race valid for the IMA Maxi European Championship, took place today at 13:30, after a short postponement caused by a temporary drop in wind pressure.

After a long delivery sail to the port of Vigo from Cape Finisterre, the sailors finally had a chance to catch their breath and reflect on their race — their strengths, their weaknesses, and already look ahead to the second stage.

The second event of the 2026 Melges 24 European Sailing Series got under way in beautiful style in Trieste, where Yacht Club Adriaco and the Italian Melges 24 Class welcomed the international fleet for four races in classic Adriatic thermal conditions.

Racing together for the first time as a crew, Paul Goodison, Phil Robertson, Nicolas Rolaz and Pietro Sibello showed improving consistency and solid boat handling against one of the strongest AC40 fleets assembled.

Some sailors name their boats after places, people, or dreams. Oliver Heer named his after the principle that carried him through.

I was one of more than 20 Topper sailors who took part in the south-west Topper traveller event at Brixham YC. I was excited to sail at Brixham as I had already done an event here before, and the club was really friendly and had a great atmosphere.
