New Zealand’s Black Foils lead their group at the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix after a strong opening day on the Solent, capping the afternoon with a race win that leaves them in a strong position to reach Sunday’s final.

The 2026 J/80 World Championship concluded Saturday, July 25 after three final races at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, capping an outstanding week of competition hosted by CORK/Sail Kingston.

Six sailing boats that spent more than 25 years in storage at a British Army base have been successfully shipped to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and delivered to the Grenadine islands of Canouan, Mayreau and Union Island.

Paprec secured their first ever regatta win on the 52 SUPER SERIES when they held their nerve across two difficult, breezy final races, making no significant errors when their main title rivals both faltered, to win the third event of the season.

We were expecting a low turnout for this event due to the forecast of barely a hint of wind however 25 boats turned up in the hope the weather people got it wrong, sadly they didn’t.

After yesterday’s washout, today more than made up for it. Conditions in Medemblik were close to perfect, champagne sailing as some of the sailors called it, even if the breeze stayed shifty and gusty through the day.
