    Thorpe Bay Yacht Club put on a fantastic ‘start of the season’ event for the Beastie Tour. The weather was great, 45 contestants had entered, nine Optimist boats, six RS Feva XLs, nine RS Tera Pro, eleven RS Tera Sport and ten ILCA 4 & 6 boats.

    A fleet of twelve RS Vareos made the trip to Oxford Sailing Club at Farmoor reservoir to attend the Vareo and K6 open. When I say, “made the trip”, this was true for five boats, there was a strong home water contingent of seven boats.
