It’s hard to believe but after nearly two years of planning the Fireball World Championships 2026 in Torbay are almost upon us.

Brilliant sunshine greeted competitors for Race Day Two at Cork Week 2026 on Tuesday 7 July, with Crosshaven and Cork Harbour bathed in summer light from early morning.

The forecast promised a consistent south westerly wind, at between 12 to 18 knots with dry and sunny intervals punctuating the cloudy conditions and this set the scene for a potentially great days sailing at Midland Sailing Club.

The third leg of the 2026 Trident UK RS400 Northern Tour was held at the annual Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy at Ullswater Yacht Club.

What a day we had – superb 10-15 knot SW breeze, not a cloud in the sky, super warm temperatures and as stated by many other sailors over the years, the best Regatta tea in the harbour – perfect!
