Day three of Hamilton Island Race Week presented by American Express delivered the full Whitsundays racing experience, with more big breeze, passing rain squalls and plenty of ups and downs as the fleet charged into the Nautilus Marine Classic races.

Strong trade winds continued for day two of Hamilton Island Race Week presented by American Express, with conditions building from yesterday and delivering another demanding day on the water.

On Sunday 22 August 2026, it will be exactly 175 years since the race around the Isle of Wight that gave us the famous 100 Guinea Cup, now affectionately known as the Auld Mug. Here’s an opportunity to remember the Cup’s Good Times this Sunday.

Very inconsistent and shifty winds made for a difficult day on Aarhus Bay, with only one race completed in the men’s gold fleet as the 2026 ILCA 6 Youth World Championships entered its final stages.

The Committee Boat proudly took its position at 9am, ready for an 11am start — a model of punctuality, professionalism, and optimism. The windward mark was plonked down in a neat little 8-knot westerly, and everything looked set for racing.
